Further, this recommendation requests the program be codified into the Long Beach Municipal Code therefore, a draft ordinance for City Council review is requested from the Long Beach City Attorney’s office. The language in Assembly Bill 965, Statutes of 2001 is being provided and recommended for codification draft purposes. This discussion should include strategies to mitigate budget impacts to core city services, limit employment losses and support the transition of displaced workers, and plan for future decommissioning and site remediation efforts.
