WE, THE DEPARTMENT SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT HE HADN'T TAKEN THE TEST.

THE PERSON ACTUALLY SHOULD COME IN WITH THE PERMIT, WHICH MAKES IT EASIER ON THE DEPARTMENT.
BUT IF YOU'RE ALLOWING THEM TO COME IN WITHOUT THE PERMIT, THEN YOU NEED TO BE CHECKING UP ON THEM PERIODICALLY, BECAUSE I'M NOT GONNA GO RUN AND TRY TO TAKE A CLASS A EXAM, EITHER.
IT IS ONE OF THE HARDEST EXAMS YOU CAN, IT IS THE HARDEST EXAM YOU CAN TAKE.
SO YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE TODAY, UM, AND THIS ISN'T ADMONISHED, IT'S JUST TO SAY WE NEED TO PUT IN BETTER CHECKS AND BALANCES SO WE DON'T GET INTO A, UH, AREA WHERE WE HAVE TO EXTEND.

UH, THEY CONTINUED CONDUCTING POLICE RECRUIT AND POLICE OFFICER LATERAL CONTINUOUS EXAM PROCESSES, WHICH INCLUDED TWO SEPARATE TARGETED RECRUITMENTS SPECIFICALLY FOR ON UNSPONSORED POLICE RECRUITS AND UNSPONSORED POLICE RECRUIT GRADUATES TO EXPAND A POLICE RECRUIT APPLICANT POOL.
SO EVEN THOUGH THE ANALYST IS NOT THE RECRUITMENT ANALYST PER SE, THEY REALLY WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND TO BRAINSTORM AND FIND HOW ARE WE GOING TO GET, UM, APPLICANTS.
AND THAT WAS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT THEY DID THIS YEAR, THIS PAST YEAR.
UM, THEY CONDUCTED FIRE CAPTAIN PROMOTIONAL EXAM TO FILL SEVEN VACANCIES CONDUCTED THREE NON-SAFETY RECRUITMENTS FOR TWO HARD TO FILL POSITIONS WITHIN A BUSINESS SYSTEM SPECIALIST AND OFFICE SYSTEMS ANALYST CLASSIFICATIONS.
AND THEY MADE SEVEN CIVIL SERVICE RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE DEPARTMENT'S ABILITY TO SELECTIVELY FILL POSITIONS WHICH REQUIRE SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AT THAT TIME, WHICH YOU APPROVED ONE TODAY.
AND THEY ALSO CONDUCTED SEVEN PUBLIC SAFETY EXAMINATIONS SUCH AS ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER, HARBOR PATROL OFFICER, PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER, SAFETY SPECIALISTS, SCHOOL GUARD, SENIOR ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER, AND SPECIAL SERVICES OFFICER, WHICH RESULTED AT THE TIME THESE NUMBERS WERE COLLECTED.
29 ELIGIBLE IS COMPRISED OF 422 CANDIDATES.

BUT, UM, IN NOVEMBER OF 2000, UH, SHE, SHE CLAIMS THAT SHE CORNERED CRAIG HAYNES AT THE, AS THE EMPLOYMENT SERVICE OFFICER IN THE ELEVATOR.
I COULD SEE YOU DOING THAT AND SAID, I NEED A THIRD INTERVIEW.
UM, UH, I KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO DO AND GET THE JOB.
AND SO SHE WAS ACTUALLY HIRED INTO THE CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WENT THROUGH ALL OF THE DIFFERENT GRADES, UH, UNTIL SHE WAS, UH, PROMOTED INTO HER FINAL POSITION WHERE SHE HAS LED, UH, BEEN AN EXCELLENT ROLE MODEL, UH, DEMONSTRATED WHAT INTEGRITY, UH, LOOKS LIKE RESPONSIBILITY WHEN THINGS CAME HER WAY THAT SHE MAY NOT HAVE AGREED WITH.
SHE STILL DID HER JOB, WHICH IS REQUIRED OF ALL OF US.
YOU MAY NOT BE IN AGREEMENT, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS YOU'RE HERE TO SERVE WHEN YOU WORK FOR THE CITY.
SO NOT ONLY DID SHE LEARN HOW TO DO THE WORK, SHE'S MADE HER LIFE'S EFFORT IN TEACHING OTHERS.

BY THE WAY, WHEN CHRISTINA WAS NOT AVAILABLE, UH, THERE WERE TIMES THAT SHE HAD TO BE OUT OF, UH, THE CITY.
UH, IT WAS CAPRICE WHO SERVED IN HER PLACE, WHO WAS ALWAYS AS OUR INTERIM DIRECTOR.

DURING HER 24 YEARS IN THE CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT, SHE'S ADMINISTERED OVER A HUNDRED EXAMINATIONS AND RECRUITMENTS WORKED ON WAY MORE THAN THAN 20 CLASSIFICATION SPECS AND HAS PROCESSED WELL OVER 16,000 APPLICATION.
UH, SOME OF HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE IMPLEMENTING NEO GOV.
UH, AND SHE WAS RELIED UPON IN THE CITY TO GIVE INFORMATION FROM THAT TRACKING SYSTEM.
UH, MOST RECENTLY, UH, SHE'S BEEN WORKING WITH THE TRANSITION TEAM TO ENSURE THAT EVERYONE HAS THE INFORMATION THAT THEY NEED.

EVERYONE IS MAYBE NOT FULLY WOKE, BUT WOKE JUST A LITTLE BIT ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT, HEY, WHAT'S GOING ON? I HAD ORGANIZATIONS REACH OUT TO ME AFTERWARDS, INVITE ME TO ZOOM.
THEY'RE LIKE, HOW ARE WE GONNA KNOW THAT IF CITY EMPLOYEES ARE BEING TREATED WELL? I SAID, WELL, YOU'RE, YOU'RE NOT GONNA KNOW AT A, A PUBLIC MEETING.
